1) Cause of cable aging: external force damage. For example: cable laying and installation is not standardized construction, easy to cause mechanical damage; in the direct buried cable to engage in civil construction is also very easy to run the cable damage. For example, the unqualified production of cable joints and the joint under humid climatic conditions will cause the joint to enter water or mix with water vapor. For a long time, water branches will be formed under the action of electric field, which will gradually damage the insulation strength of the cable and cause failure.
3) Cause of cable aging: chemical corrosion. The cable is directly buried in the area with acid and alkali action, which often causes the armor, lead skin or outer protective layer of the cable to be corroded. The protective layer is subject to chemical corrosion or electrolytic corrosion for a long time, resulting in the failure of the protective layer, the reduction of insulation, and the failure of the cable. 4) cable aging reason: long-term overload operation. Overload operation, due to the thermal effect of the current, the load current through the cable will inevitably lead to conductor heating, while the charge of the skin effect and steel armor vortex loss, insulation media loss will also produce additional heat, so that the cable temperature increases. Long-term overload operation, too high temperature will accelerate the aging of insulation, insulation breakdown. Especially in the hot summer, the temperature rise of the cable often leads to the breakdown of the weak insulation of the cable, so in the summer, the fault of the cable is particularly much. 5) cause of cable aging: cable joint failure. The cable joint is the weakest link in the cable line, and the cable joint failure caused by the direct negligence of the personnel (poor construction) often occurs. Construction personnel in the process of making cable joints, if there is a joint crimping is not tight, heating is not sufficient and other original network, will lead to cable head insulation reduction, resulting in accidents.
6) Reasons for cable aging: environment and temperature. The external environment and heat source of the cable will also cause the cable temperature to be too high, insulation breakdown, and even explosion and fire.
